Had lunch here today. Incredible Cuban sandwich and the appatizer sampler was great. Our server was professional and gave us a few good suggestions. I have spent a llittle time in Miami with my Cuban friend and the ambiance immediately brought me back to some beautiful memories. If you like good authentic Cuban food this is the place for you.

I'd passed this place while driving up and down Magazine dozens of times and never paid much attention to it. It's a small space so you can miss it if you aren't looking for it. I am seriously slapping myself for not stopping in sooner. Having spent time in Tampa and South Florida I was quite pleased to see that we had a Cuban restaurant in the area. The food here is so, so good, the service is warm and friendly, and the music transports you instantly to the Caribbean. There are a few tables for dining in. You can seat yourself and someone will be around with menus and to assist you. The menu is filled with delicious options so it's super hard to choose, but I honestly don't think that you can go wrong. I got the ropa vieja platter (shredded flank steak cooked in a stew). It comes with white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. Listen. *chef's kiss*. The meat was so tender and flavorful. I also love a rice and a bean, so you can't really go wrong there with me. I also go a Cubano (because I was hungry and that's my business) and let me tell you that sandwich was good! Whenever I've gotten Cuban sandwiches outside of Florida I find them to be a little dry and lacking flavor -- not this one. I truly enjoy this place so much and encourage you to try if you're in the area. They'll also be expanding and opening a location in Slidell, so be on the lookout for that!

Here I go again. I walked in to this place and instantly I was taken to an island 50 nautical miles south of Florida. The music, the smell all too familiar of the Cuban culture I had known and grown to love in New Orleans. The food, oh the food... where do I start? Wait! You decide. If you love Cubano cuisine you owe it to yourself to visit this little gem on a corner off Magazine and Milan in uptown New Orleans.... Remember to support your local eateries so we both don't starve....

I walked in and was told I could seat myself and they'd be right over with a menu. When my waitress came over and introduced herself I ordered the Passion fruit juice. It was really really good. It was sweet and a bit creamy. I definitely recommend. I ordered the Pickled Cuban sandwich got my entree. I got it dressed with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. The sandwich had fried plantains on it too which was a nice. Overall the sandwich was really tasty. I could definitely see myself craving that. It reminded me of something I would have on vacation and miss so much when I arrived back home to New Orleans. I also had the churros to go. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It came with a condensed milk for dipping or drizzling. Ummm mmm mm So good!!

Delicious comfort food! So grateful to my friend for introducing me to this little gem of a restaurant. We dined in around 1PM on a Tuesday and there was just one other party. I got the Lechon Asado ($16), which is described as "Cuban style slow roasted pork infused with rich tropical flavors and mojo marinade topped with sauteed onions and homemade garlic mojo sauce." The platter also comes with white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. Such a simple looking dish but oh my goodness, love at first bite! The pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The black beans were incredibly delicious as well. And, honestly, it tasted like the white rice had a little bit of flavor too, though I couldn't put my finger on exactly what. The menu has not only platters but also sandwiches, a fairly extensive beverage menu and some desserts and appetizers as well. I cannot wait to come back and try some of their other platters! I loved the interior of this cozy little restaurant. It feels like you're dining in somebody's home and eating their homecooked meals. The only thing I'll add is that despite the restaurant being practically empty, the service was slow (but friendly!), so keep that in mind if you're dining in and have a schedule to keep.
